SECTION 1 – PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you make a purchase from our store, as part of the buying and selling process we collect the personal information you provide, such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, which provides information about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing, where applicable: With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

SECTION 2 – CONSENT

How do you obtain my consent?

When you provide personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange delivery or return a purchase, we understand that you consent to our collecting and using that information for that specific purpose only.

If we ask for your personal information for another purpose, such as marketing, we will ask directly for your express consent or give you an opportunity to decline.

How do I withdraw my consent?

If, after opting in, you change your mind and no longer consent to our contacting you, collecting your information or disclosing it, you can notify us at contact@skodde.co.uk.

French Law No. 2014-344 of 17 March 2014 on consumer affairs also allows anyone to refuse telephone marketing by a business with which they have no current contractual relationship. You may register on the telephone marketing opt-out list directly through the government’s Bloctel website.

SECTION 3 – DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you breach our Terms of Sale and Use.

SECTION 4 – SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc. They provide the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and general Shopify application. Your data is stored on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment

If you use a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, Shopify stores your credit card information. It is encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

Your purchase transaction information is retained only as long as necessary to complete your order. Once your order is complete, the purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways comply with PCI-DSS, managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of companies including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers we use will collect, use and disclose your information only to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies concerning the information we are required to provide for your purchase transactions.

We recommend that you read these providers’ privacy policies carefully to understand how they will handle your personal information.

Some providers may be located, or have facilities located, in a jurisdiction different from yours or ours. If you proceed with a transaction involving a third-party service provider, your information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which that provider or its facilities are located.

For example, if you are in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway in the United States, the information used to complete that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Sale and Use.

Clicking certain links on our website may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and recommend that you read their privacy policies.

SECTION 6 – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to ensure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide your credit card information, it is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology and stored with AES-256 encryption.

Although no method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
